Welcome to this art website showing the work of an established West Country artist. The artwork is generally in a painterly or realistic style and created from the landscapes and seascapes around the British and European coasts.
Vic Court has been painting since his early teenage days in the Kent marshes where he would try and capture the landscapes of those times.
Orchards full of apples, cherries, plums, and pears flowed down the hills from High Halstow to meet the extensive woods and eventually the marshes of the Thames estuary.
The marshes with their dykes are a fascinating place, where herons, eels, sticklebacks, water voles and plovers shared their space with the sheep that are farmed there.
A couple of miles north is Cooling with its church containing the tomb that was used by Dickens in Great Expectations as the place where Magwitch met Pip and asked for some food.
Working from his studio in East Dorset, artwork can be purchased from this site or created on a commission basis.
